is certainly m o st nearly allied to the D . hetcrophylla (Tab. 2 3 0 .) ; but the caudex is shorter’ aud
thicker , clothed with mnoh lon ger aud differently shaped scales. The fertile aud the sterile fronds
differ very little in shape from each other ; the margins are simply crenato-dintatc, aud in the slims
o f each to o th is a so r u s ; so that th e se sori arc arranged in a sin g le hue on each side at the margin
o f the frond. The texture is more rigid and coriaceous, the surface more g lo ssy ; - t h e nerves
diverging from th e midrib, n o t so crowded, and very broad in proportion to their length.
