We must confess that neither the name nor the description given by Poiret of this plant in the
Encyohpidie Méthodique would have led us to consider it the same as that wliich is here represented,
wo have, however, received speeimeiis front Kaulfuss, which prove it to be the individual
described by him under that appellation. Its nearest affinity Is wtth the T. replans (T a b . 3 2 . ot
this work), from which it is distinguishable by its much sm.allcr size, and rounder, imbricated
and nearly sessile fronds, wbiel, are scarcely lobed at the mttrgin, and never pin„,atilid. The na.ne
T. nummularioefolium would have been mncli more appropriate than that o t punctatum.
