T he various expeditions which have been sent by the Government o f N ew South Wales for the
purpose o f e xploring the more remote parts o f that vast territory, accompanied as they arc in most
instances by botanists o f the greatest zeal and experience, have already been the means o f making
vast accessions to our knowledge o f the plants o f that country, and- bringing us acquainted with
th e more extensive range o f other species that bad been previously known to us.
The present individual, which I believe bad only been hitherto found in the neighbourhood o f
P o r t Jackson, has recently been discovered on the banks o f the Brisbane Kiver, upon the verge o f
the tropics, by Mr. Fraser, and by him communicated to us.
