gu e— to the D . heta-ophylla o f Smith and Swartz. Our specimens are indeed more pinnatifid
than the description o f the latter would a llow; but wc find that the fertile fronds vary in this
respect, and sometimes so exactly correspond with the H um a ta pin n a tifid a o f Cavanilles, that
wc arc entirely disposed to consider th em one species. On a specimen now before us, there is a
fertile frond with the lower h alf sinuate aud dcntatcd, whilst the upper h alf is truly pinnatifid and
dcntated.
