A d ia n tum obliquum will rank n ex t to A . m acrophyllum, figured at T a b . 1 3 2 o f this work, differing,
however, in its much smaller-sized, more obtuse and glaucous pinnæ, and in the shape o f the
sori. Willdenow united it with the A . lucidum o f Swartz, th ou gh h e seemed doubtful o f the
propriety o f so d o in g ; and Sprengel has, apparently with justice , separated them.
It is probably n o t uncommon in the W e s t Indies, whence wc have received many specimens
from the island o f St. V incent.
