ligulatis, diametro uncialibus vel sesquiuncialibus, integerrimis, submarginatis, superne paululum dilatatis,
apicibus brevi- et tenui-attenuatis, basi superne oblique cuneatis, inferne insigniter decurrentibus; nervis
numerosis, parallelis, simplicibus, oblique horizontalibus.
So}-i lineares, a basi fere ad npicem continui, costæ approximati.
In vo lu cm m membranaceum, continuum, margine integerrimum, intus dehiscens.
Capsuloe numerosissimæ, subglobosoe, annulo fere completo cinctæ, lon ge pedicellatæ.

W c have seen only one specimen o f this very line .species o f Blechnum, and that was destitute
o f stipes and caudex ; but what remains o f the frond is amply sufficient for us to determine that
it belongs to no described species o f the genus. I t will, however, rank near to the B . orientale;
but there th e pinnæ are vastly more numerous and crowded, scarcely any o f them decurrent at the
base, and their form is linear-Ianccolate, gradually and almost from th e base attenuated into a long
point.
