S o small are the sori in this plant, that, iu the dried state at least, the involucre is n o t distinctly
perceptible. In th e y ounger form o f th e fructification there is indeed an appearance o f a membrane
cove rin g th e capsules, but it docs n o t seem to form eithe r an orbicidar or reniform involucre.
