fuscis; subtus hic illic radiculosus.
Stipes digitalis, erectus, glaber, basi solummodo squamosus, fuscus, teres, hinc canaliculatus.
Zi'OHS digitalis, ovato-lanceolata, coriacea, glabra, subiiitida, profunde et subpectinato-pinnatifida; laciniis alternis,
horizontalibus, lanceolatis, vel lineari-lanceolatis, obtusis, margine crenatis, vel sinuatis, inferioribus margine
inferiore iterum pinnatifidis. Costa distincta, venis obliquis obscuris superne latioribus soriferis.
Sori marginales, numerosoe, venis terminantes.
Involucrum reniforme, fere ut in NepJirodio, basi subgibbosum in nervum decurrens, reliquo libero, integerrimo.
Substantia membranacea, rigidiuscula, fusca.
Capsula: sublonge pedicellatæ, sphoericæ, annulatæ.
Semitia ovalia, vix angulata, sub summo lente reticulata, pallide fusca.

are indebted to Archibald Menzies, E sq . In habit it resembles th e D a v a llia pedata-, and in the
form o f its involucre there is a great similarity with that o f N eph ro d ium : or it may be lo ok ed
upon as the involucre o f a true D a v a llia with winged margins.
