Frondes digitales et ultra, erectæ, rigidoe, lineares, profunde pinnatifidoe. L a c in ia: horizontales, alteraæ, ovalo-
oblongoe, obtusæ, coriaceæ, integerrimæ, glabræ, fructiferoe, sublus parce pilosoe, siccitate marginibus
revolutis. Ra ch is glabra, dorso sulcata, facie inferiore prominente atro-fusca.

Pobjpodium rigescens appears to be known only by the description of Willdenow in the Species
Plantarum. Wc are indebted to M. Desvaux for an authentic specimen, which we have here
figured and described.
