Tins small but very distinct species o f A sp k n iu m was am on gst the earliest commumcations that
we received from our gene rous friend Dr . W allich. I t was marked as b e in g ga'thered upon rocks In
N ep a l in the year 1818, and as having the provincial .appellation o f Dameemn. W e do n o t find the
name in th e extensive list o f the plants o f the Museum o f the Hononrable the E ast India Company,
nor any specimens exac tly corresponding with it among the species that have been distributed.
