T his very fine species o f A sp id ium seems to have b een discovered by Dr. Wallich and his
collectors so le ly in the interior o f the vast con tin en t o f A sia , where so many other n ove ltie s o f this
tribe have been found. I t is very distinct from any with which wc are acquainted, and we ll distinguished
by the coadúnate tipper pinnules (as its name im p lie s), and by its deep black-purple and
g lo ssy stipes and rachis.
