This grows in dense tufts, and in a dry state has an appearance not unlike that c
epiphylla. A s a species o f Trichomanes it comes near, perhaps, to 'the Tr. parvulum o f Poirct
[T . SibthoiptoidesYIJlA.), and to the T.minutum o f B lum e : hut hoth th e se, according to the
descriptions, are considerably smaller in siz e and have much deeper laciniæ. Still these siniple-
fronded species o f the genus arc so vai-iable in th e outline o f the frond, that without figures or
very full descriptions it is scarcely possible to determine the species intended by authors.
