Root consisting o f a few simple, sh o rt, pellucid fibres, produced from th e lower p a rt o f the
Stems, wliich a re from one to th re e o r four inches high, e ith e r simple, o r once o r twice
divided, w ith nearly erect, dichotomous bran ch e s; th e ir color in th e young s ta te a
