stems, each bundle o rigina ting immediately beneath th e stip u le s; most abundantly
towards th e base o f th e plant. Every individual radicle is simple, whittsh, and p ellacid.

T h e ir color is a yellowish-green, in ch n in g below to a brown. T h e echóles a re tolerably
