Th e remarkable insertion and direction o f the leaves so well distinguish th e pre sent from every
known British species o f Jun g e rm an n ia , th a t it would be superfluous to say any th in g more upon
the subject, were it not for th e g re a t similarity which it bears a t first sig h t to J . nemorosa. My
acute friend. Dr. Taylor, first pointed o u t to me the real struc ture o f the leaves, and ascertained
th em to be totally different from those o f the species th a t belong to th e section o f the genus, “ foliis
inoequalitèr bilobis)' the ap pa rent lobe and lobule being in reality distinct leaves, as well in regard
to their insertion, as to th e ir figni-e ; and in both respects be a ring no inconsiderable resemblance to
the Hookeria quadrifaria o f D r. Smith.
Mr. Donn first discovered this species, inte rmixed w ith J . Donniana.
