re d , curved moderately to o n e side, b ristle -sh ap ed , furn
ish ed w ith a stro n g nerve, th e ir base m o re o r less suddenly

T h e broad bases o f th e leaves h av e a peculiarly smooth
glossy a sp e c t, observable also in th e capsule , w hich ripens in
th e sum m e r.
