Die. palustre L a P y laie according to specimens in Bridel’s herbarium is
a form oi Campylopus flexuosus, and the specimens in the Dillenian herbarium
representing T . 46, fig. i 5 C. of Hist. musc. belong to D. scoparium and foreign
D. undulatum E hr. (fide Lindberg).

A u to ico u s ; densely cæspitose, bright or fuscous green, tumid.
Stem erect, a— 6 in. high, covered with rufous tomentum below.
L e a v e s densely imbr icated, e recto-patent or subsecund above, somewhat
crisped when dry, the younger glos sy green, the lower pale, long.
broadly lanceolate, rather obtuse, channelled below, carínate above,
margin strongly undulate from middle to apex, sharply serrate and also
a t b a ck o f nerve which vanishes below apex ; cells a t base narrowly
rectang . at angles suddenly much dilated, subquadrate, orange, above
subrhombic-quadrate, irregular, mammosely protuberant a t back.
