Gregarious. Woods, chips, twigs, fir-leaves, moss, etc., tree-fern stems in
greenhouses. May-Nov. J X 3f X gV in. Sometimes wholly pale brown
and varying 4 to 4 in. high.

P. convex, olivaceous, ashy, yellowish or white ; mid. reddish.
St. tense, deep yellow, orange-crimson at fibrillose base. G.

Scattered. Woods, beech, amongst leaves ; uncommon. Autumn.

P. hemispherical, yellowish fiesh-colour ; mid. ochreous. St. firm,

white. Milk, saffron to vinous-red.
Subcæspitose. Odour somewhat alkaline. Stumps, beech, alder; rare.
