This s]3aniirel presents another example of decoration on two
surfaces ; the gold medalUon is evidently introduced for the purpose
of uniting the ornaments contained ^vithin the arcli to the square
form above, round whicli, though not shewn In this Plate, is the
usual inscription—" And there is no conqueror but God."

I Ce tympan présente un autre exemple de décoration sur deux
surfaces ; et le médaiUon d'or est évidemment introduit dans le but
d ' u n i r les ornements à l'entablement au dessus. Autour de cette
ogive, quoiqu' on ne la voie pas dans cette Planche, se trouve
l'inscription ordinaire—" Et Dieu seul est vainqueur."
