Sori apici au t dorso venulæ infimæ axillaris et venularum secundariarum insidentes,
globosi, parvi, n u d i YiWces tropicæ, Americanæ. Rhizoma repens. Frondes
sparsoe coriaceoe aut herhaceæ, simplices, unica vice pinnatæ. Venæ pinnatæ, costoe-
formes, parallelæ, ramosoe, apice libero globuloso desinentes. Venulæ opposite in
arcum pluriangulatum anastomosantes, infima ex axilla superiori ad basin venæ
inferioris emergens libera, apice globulosa, supremæ in maculas irregulares confluentes.
Venulæ secundariæ ex angulis arcus exorientes, tot quot anguli, liberoe, apice globo-
ïosæ. Presl.

Tills Genus of Presl’s consists of about thirteen described species, all of them, I believe,
natives of tropical America and mostly of Brazil. I t differs from Goniophlebium and
Blarginaria, that author observes, “ arcubus venularum pluriangulatis et polysoris
atqne maculis suhparallologrammis.” The name is thence appropriately derived from
y.ci,umjXog arcuatus, and vena.

vemdisque in maculas hexagonoideas inoequales anastomosantes et reticulum densum
efformantes, marginales apice libero obtusoque desinentes. Presl.

A small Genus, consisting of D . ailennata, here figured, a native of New Holland and
New Zealand, D. macrodonta, D. pteroides, and D. irregularis from the East Indies, all
Polypodia of other anthors. It differs from Pleopeltis and allied Genera in the areolæ of
the veins and veinlets constituting a simple reticulation.
