margm, of a reddish grey colour. Of this margin, hitherto
unnoticed even by the accurate Acharius, we exhibit a porreous,
when broken found to consist of upright branched
bres whose tips render the surface rough, as in L. coccodes,
' 5,11’ and each of these tips when perfect bears a minute
sessile brownish tubercle. The colour of the whole is nearly
white, except the tubercles and border. Very white and
more finely branched round portions sometimes grow in a
