Seed veffels, produced in large bunches at the fummit of the fertile firft
leaves ; thefe leaves grow from the central part of the root, and refemblc
the barren firft leaves till the fourth or fifth pair of fecond leaves, above
which the rib terminates in a large pendent divided and fubdivided bunch
of fliort cylindrical fpikes of feed veffels ; at firft green, when ripe of a
brown colour, and after the feeds are difchargcd appear as if covered with
duft..
The whole plant is o f a bright frcfli green., and very elegant.
Ofrnund Royal grows in bogs and clay grounds ; in a little bog, in a
field under Hadderflaelf-Scout, in Sowerby ; in a field near Mixenden
Mill, and fome other places in the pariih of Halifax.
