to travellers, and often diminiih, or even annihilate, that approbation
which otherwife might be bellowed upon their labours
and exertions. T he firit o f thoie charges is o f a moral nature,
and relates to a failing o f the heart; the lecond aims at a fault,
which either proceeds from indolence or ignorance. But theie
articles o f accufation, when exhibited, are not always founded
upon truth : and, before a decifive opinion can be given, the credit
o f the perfon who accufes ihould be carefully balanced againft the
