Whole plant 2 to C iu. high; the Men narrowly oblong. Skm slender, cnrvcd,
with a single sheath at the base. Leaf usually solitary, rising rather below the middle
of the stem, nanwl y elliptic-oblong, obtnso or snb-aoute, tapering to the lorn- narrow
tabular sheath; length 1-23 to 3-5 in., breadth -So to -So in.; peduncle of the i-aeeme
with several remote bracts, sometimes one of them leaf-like, liacems -Go to 2 in. long,
doom-Ted, rather laxly-flowered, seennd. Fhtven narrowly campanulato, longer than the
orarles {-3 in. long); Jloral hraet linear-lanceolate, erect, longer than the shottly-sialliod
tumid oTary. Sepah sub-equal, all crect, not spreading; the dorsal elliptic, blunt, not
comiiTcnt with the petals; the lateral pair oblong, sub-acute. PeMn as long as' the
sepals, free, oblong, blunt, tapering slightly to the base, somewhat folcate. lip about
as long as the petals and sepals, decm-ved beyond the middle, oblong, slightly concave,
minutely hispid near the base, tapering and becoming thicker towards the bknt apexl
spitr shorter than the sepals, narrowly ellip.soid, constricted near tho nock. Cotmmi
elongate, the npox pointed. Antlm--edh close together but not toncliing, long, parallel;
pollinia ellipsoid, each consisting of a pair of flattened masses composed of larg¡
gromdes, the conilicles very short; the glands elliptic, acute at one end; staminorle,
long, filiform, lying parallel to the anther-cells and exceeding them in length, their
apices free. Stignm! conjoined, large, occupying the whole of the anterior surface of

Petah about as long but broader, triaiigular-laiiceolate, obtusely acuminate, falcate.
Lip not fleshy, as long as the sepals and petals, oblong-lanceolate, obtuse, entiro;
tpuf much shorter than the lip (usually leas than half as long), shghtly cui'ved, stout,
compressed from front to back. Column very sliort. AntUr-cells short, broad, parallel,
touching, without tubes; po'dinia narrowly elliptic, grooved, without caudicles; the glands
small, oblique, elliptic, situated far iuside and placed near the margin of tho two large
conjoined stigraatic lobes above the mouth of the spur. Capsule sessile, erect, fusiform,
•35 in. long.
Siklum, on Re-chi-la, elovation 9,000 feet ; in flower during August; Pantling
No. 3-il; also collected by Hooker. Clariie and King's Collectors at Ling-too and
Grun-tok at elevations of about 10,000 feet.
The colour of the flowers is wiiite.

Height of entire plant 10 to 13 inches. Stem short, beaiing one or two rather
mde blunt sheaths at the base, aud two unequal, remote, narrowly elHptic-oblong
sub-acutc or acute leaves narrowed to the sheathing base, 2"0 to 4 in. long and '5 to
1"25 in. broad, the upper the smaller of the two. Raeema elongate, laxly-flowered.
Flowers "5 in. across at the mouth; Jloral bract largo, foliaceous, linear, acuminate,
•5 to 2-5 in. long, the lower ones revolutc aud many times longer than the short
pcdicelled and abruptly-beaked ovary. Sepals unequal; the dorsal elongate-triangular,
with a broad base and sub-acute apex; the lateral pair nearly twice as long, linearlanccolate,
acute, strongly revolute. l^etah refiexed, as long as the lateml sepals, faloately
lanceolate, cordate-acuminate, the apices rather blunt. Lip nrembranous, lanceolate,
straight, caudate-acuminate, eutii'e; spur much longer than the ovary, cylindric, boldly
curvcd, the mouth infuudibuliform, the apical half quadrate iu section, AntJter-cells
pyriform, (liscrete, converging at the apex, their tubes long; pollinia elliptic, with
blunt ends, vertically grooved, shorter than the compressed cui-ved caudicles ; the
glands broadly ovate. Stigmas large, united above the mouth of the spur, bordered
above by a narrow belt. Staminodcs elongate, narrow, parallel to the tubes of the
anther-cells.
Sikkim, on Sinchal, elevation 8,000 feet; Thomson; Ling-too and Ze-Iep-la. King's
Collectors. Siti-ga-le-la, and iu the Lachoong valley at elevations of about 12,000 feet;
in flower during August and September; PantKng No. 421.
The coloui- of the flowers is green.
