T uler globose, -5 in. in diam. Scape 3 to G in. long, enveloped iu two or three
tubular sheaths with sub-acute dilated bifid apices, and a single Unear-lanccolate bract
above the sheaths. Flomrs two or three, about -75 in. long; Jloral hract very small
ovate, acute, shorter tlian the pedicel of the nm-shaped ridged oraiy. Sepals and peiah
sub-equal, spreading, narrowly oblong-oblanceolate, acuminate. Lip ovate when flattened
out, convolutc and embmcing the column, entire except tiic minutely emarginate apex
tlie midrib thickened and callus-like for more than half its length, the base sli"itly
saccate. Column narrowed aud sigmoidly bent iu its lower half, the apex clavate Antji -
broad, depressed, rctusc, the clinandrium irregularly cronulate; pollinia four, narrowly

Sikkim, near the base of the liills, at Sembree, elevation 1,500 feet; in flower
during May; Pantling No. 140.
The sepals and petals are green. Tho lip is Hhac with a g,-cen spot at the
base and a yellow Hne along the thickened part of the midrib. Tho leaf is of a dark
green beautifully mottled with purplish-brown; it lies flat on the ground, and appears
some time after tlie flowers have withered.

Tiller globular, about 1'25 in. in diam. Seape of floweriug plant 6 to 8 in.
high, below about as thick as a goose-quill, bearing three long tubular bracts with acuto
or bifid apices. Peduncle about 2 in., shorter than the lax 7- or 8-flowercd raceme.
Floivers 1 iu. long, di'ooping; floral hract linear-lanceolate, acuminate, longer than tlio
truncate stalked ovary, strongly deflexed; stalk aud ribs of the ovary winged. Se})als
and petals sub-equal, elliptic-oblanceolate, acuminate, sub-connivent. Lip minutely
saccate at the base, elliptic-obovate when spread out, the lower half convolute round
the column and bearing two short triangular forward-pointing side lobes; the anterior
half expanded, its edges crenulato-lobulate; tho disc of tlie convolute part with two
parallel central ridges, that of the expanded part with three ridges aud many long
wavy haii-s. Leaf reniiorm, abruptly apiculate, glabrous, the edges undulate, 5 or 6
iu. in diam. and about tlio same iu lengtli. Petiole 5 or 6 in. long, sheathed at the

Sikkim, at elevations of from 2,000 to 2,500 feet; iu flower during May; Pantling

Tho sepals and petals ai-e pink with lines of wliite and of dark pink. The lip
is pale green in its apical and white iu its basal half. Tho column is white, excei)t
the apex which is dark pink. The whole of the flowering axis is more or loss shaded
with pink, as arc also the floral bracts and the ovary.

apex. Raceme 3 to 5 iu. long, with numerous rather distant drooping flowers about
"65 in. long; jloral Iract linear, acuminate, longer than tlio stalked ovary, much
de flexed; ovaiy aud its stalk winged, tho latter tmncato at the apex, Sepals and
petals sub-equal, linear-lanccolate, sub-connivent. Lip minutely saccate at the base,
broadly sub-obovate when spread out, the lower two-thii'ds sub-convolute round the ovary
and with bluntly triangular iiTegnlarly erosc lateral lobes; tho disc with three parallel
hispid lamellaj; the anterior third or lobe broadly ovate, tapering to tho sub-obtuse
npox, its edges coarsely undnlate-crenate, the upper surface velvety. Column clavate,
nearly straight. AntliAr with a broad keel; pollinia oblong, conjoined. Leaf large,
ovate-reniform, shortly and sharply apiculate, glabrous, 6 to 8 in. iu diam.; petiole 4 to
