The sepals are pale brown and the petals pine white; the anterior part of the lip
is also M-hite, but the basal portion as well as tlio anther are pale yellow; at the base
of the column are two brown spots.

5. Zeüxixe glaxdulosa, new species.
Whole plant G to 9 in. high. Stem beariug a few lax hyaline sheaths. Leaves
obloug-lauceolate, acute, with a short petiole expandiog into a wide hyaline sheath :
length of blade 1 to l-o in., breadth '25 to -35 iu. Peduuclo short, pubescent, bearing
two lanceolato glabrous bracts. Raccmz about 1 in. long, densely glandu'ar-pubesceat.
Flowers "2 in. across; floral hraet broadly ovate, bluntly acumiuate, shorter than or
c:¡iial to the densely glandular-pubescent ovary. Sepals connivent, ovate, acute, sub-equal,
sparsely glandular-pubescent, the dorsal very concavo. rdals sub-rotundly dimidiate,
sub-oblique, eacli with a long terminal apiculus. Lip as long as the sejjals, widely
saccata at tho bass, the iatcrior of the sac with a row of three lamellar calli on
each side and an iucm-ved conical tooth on each margin. Cohmn M'itli very large
lamellate processes having theii- apices projecting forward, incuived, and touching;
rostellum broad, projecting; pollinia pyriform, bifid and deeply grooved, attached to a
large oblong elliptic gland Iiaving a small viscid area on its under surface, S¿i¡]mas
two, small, narrowly oblong, situated near the base of the rostellum.

The prevailing colour in the flowers of this is olivaceous gi-een, the co'umn and
the central contracted part of the lip being white.
Tliis species is allied to Z. nervosa, Benth., but differs from that in having smaller
leaves of a blackish-pur^ilc colour, shorter pedimcle and racemo, and smaller -flowers.

Moreover the columnar processes are different in shape from those of Z. nervosa. The
specific name glandulosa ia given to this on account of the large quantity of glandular
hair on the inflorescence.

Whole plant 6 to 9 ia. long, the stem glabrous and bearing near tho ground ono or
two wide truncate scarious sheaths, and higher up two or three obliquely ovate-lanceolato
acute leaves 1 to 2-5 in. long and -65 to 1 in. broad; their petioles about -75 in.,
expanding at the base into broad hyaline sheaths. Peduncle and mcliis of raceme with
sparse flexuose haii-s, tliG former with one or two lanceoIatc acuminate bracts. Raceme
laxly 3- to 8-flowercd, about 1 to 1'5 in- long; floral bract ovate, acute, scarious,
somewhat longer than the ovary, puberulous. Sepah ovate, blunt, the dorsal very
concave, th© lateral pair wide-spreading. Petals sub-rotnnd, dimidiate, abruptly apicnlato
at one side. Lip longer than the sepals, the base saccately cymbifonn, the sac with
throe small parallel calli on each side of the interior near the base; apical lobe divided
into two sub-quadrate spreading lobules. Column very short; tiie rostellum 2-Iobed, very
broad at the apex, and with a pair of rather small converging processes underneath;
pollinia obovoid, bifid, attached to a broad oblong caudicle; the gland large, transparent,
the adhesive portion being lanceolate and opaque. Stigmas two, minute, each situated

The sepals are green, the petals white, and the lobes of the lip yellow.
The leaves are green suffused vrith silvery grey, or green with a broad grey band
along the midrib.
