Cuiidi.le broadly oblong, its lower half viscid; gland none.
Sikkim, near I'emiongtsi; sapposed to gro'Y at an elevation of about 3,000 feet;
in flower during April ; Pantling No. 472.
This interesting little plant has been met with only once, and the exact elevation
at whicli it gi-ew is uncerttiin. It is we believe a typical Sarcochihs as Brown appears
to have understood the genus. In the drawing, however, tha caudicl© of the pollinia
is shown as without a gland. It is probable, however, that, owing to the scautiuesi
of the material, the gland was overlooked in the dissection.

spreading, bilobed at the apex. Racemes extra-asillary. Flowers rather large. Sepals and
petals wide-spreading, coriaceous, the petals smaller than the sepals. Lip clawed, jointed
to the base of the column and mobile, rather shorter than the petals and sepals,
spurloss or with a spur at some distance from the base; the hypochile and epichil©
large, variously lobed, and lamellate. Cohma short, stout, with no foot. Anther conical;
pollinia two, globose, bifid behind, attached by a broad flat caudicle to a large glaad.
