Whole plant 9 to 12 in. liigli. Stem short, glabrous, with the leaves clustered near
the base aud bearing upwards-large oblong acute bracts 'To to 1 in. long. Leaves thick,
orate, sub-acute, 5-nerved, the veins anastoraosing, the edges sub TO volute; leugth of blade
1 to 1-5 in.; the petiole about one-third shorter, broad, sheathing widely at the base.
Peduncle longer than the stem, pubescent. Raceme mauy-flowered, not secund, the rachis
bracts aud ovaries pubcscent;/oraZ hract ovate-oblong, sub-acute, longer than the ovary.
Sepals sub-equal, oblong, sub-acute, connivcnt. Tetáis lincar-oblong, falcate, sub-acute.
Lip ns long as the sepals, with a deep sub-globose sac at the base, cxserted beyond the
bases of the sepals, smooth within, suddenly contracted in front into the linear beaked
defloxed apical lobe. Column very short; the stigma broad, orbicular, convex. Anther
convex, shortly apiculate but not beaked; polUnia broadly ovoid, sessile on the orbicular

Sikkim, the Lachong valley, at an elevation of about 12,000 feet; in flower during

The flowers are white, the apex of the lip being green and its sac flushed with
pinkish-yellow.

Height of whole plant 4 to 8 in., everywhere glabrous or nearly so. Stem stout,
enveloped in the long tubular leaf-sheaths. Leaves rather thick, ovate-lanceolate, acute,
1 to 2 in. long and 0 to -9 in. broad; petiole -6 to -8 in. long, consibting mostly
of sheath. Peduncle only 1 to 1*5 in. long, bearing several narrowly lanceolate acuminate
imbricate bracts. Raceme 2 to 3 in. long, secund, crowded, usually glabrous,
sometimes sparsely hairy. Flowers 'Só in. long, horizontal; jloral hrait lanceolate,
acuminate, slightly longer than the ovary. Scpak sub-equal, oblon'g-ovate, acute.
l^etals narrowly oblong-ovate, cohering by their inner edges for half their length. Lip
longer than the sepals, with an elongate sac at the base setose inside, tapering to
the oblong-lanceolate sub-acute recurved büamellate apical lobe. Column short, stout.
Antlier with its beak acuminate and upturned; poUinia .stoutly clavate, conjoined, tapering
to a pseudo-caudicle and attached to an elongate gland; rostellum long, erect. Stigma

The flowers ore pink, a colour which passes into white at the bases of the sepals
find petals. The leaves on the upper surface are gi-een with a broad silvcjy band along
the midrib; on the lower surface they are more or less suliused with pui-ple.

glabrous like the stem, dark gi-een -with white nerves, 8 to 1-8 in. long and -j to 1 in.
broad. Podimcle shorter than tho raceme, pubescent. Racoma 1 to V5 in. long, i)ubc5cerit.
Floivers sub-sccund, -5 iu. long; the hract lanceolatc, exceeding the ovary. Sepals 3-norvcd,
the lateral pair ovate-ucuminnte, tho dorsal oblong-lanceolate aud clothed externally with
long sparse haii's. Totals oblong-lauceolatc, falcate, 3-ncrved. Lip oblong with a sharp
tooSi ut each sido of the mouth of the sub-saccate base; the apical lobe ol>long, entire,
obtu,sc, with scabrid disc, the sac setose within. ToUinia clongate-obovato, with a shoit
caudicle and a long narrow lanceolate pointed gland.

The flowers of this are white, the sepals being tipped with pink. This differs from
G. vittata, Bonth. notably by its laxly hairy sepals and by tho scabrid disc of tlio lij).

Whole plant 6 to 12 iu. high. Stem decumbent at tho base. Leai-'cs 3- to
5-ucrved, distant, ovate-lanccolate, acute, somewhat oblique, narrowed to the base, the
edges undulate; length 2-Ó to 3-5 in., breadth "75 to 1-CÓ; petiole 1 in. long, slightly
expanded into a short sheath at tho base. Pcdunclo only 1 to 2 in. long, pubcsceut
iu its upper part like the /loral bracts and bearing several lanceolatc sheaths with tubular
bases and acuminate apices. Raeome 1-5 to 3 in. long, its rachis aud tho bracts aud
ovaries glandular-pubescent. Flowers numerous, rather crowded, mucii exceeded by tho
lanceolate acuminate' 3-nervcd floral bracts. Sepals sub-equal, ovate-oblong, sub-acute,
connivcut, connate at the base. Totals obliquely rhomboid, with acute apices and longclawcd
bases. Lip as long as the sepals, tho base with a sub-globxilar sac hispid within
and contracted into the oblong sub-acute apical lobe. Column and rostellum rather long.
Anther crcct, oblauceolate; polUnia narrowly clavate, vertically grooved, united at tho
