Pnntling, who has collcctod this spoeies very largely, finds that o iorm of it
wrlh spariess flowers is very eommon (see Figs. 4 and 5 of the plate). The flowers
ot this iorm have moreover an entire lanceolate lip, as though tho side lobes on a
bp ot tho ttsaal form had been removed. The two stigmas in this variety are also
nnited, whereas m tho normal flower they are separated by the area in the ecntro of
which lies tho orifice of the spar. Except for these differences the plant in every way
resembles the typical form.

The flowers of this are green throughout. As in the case of II. pecilnata, specimens
dry black, and the two spccies are so similar that WalHch issued both under the samo
number (7029); while Lindley, in describing H. peetinata in liis Genera and Species
of Orchids, gave, aa has been pointed out by Sir Josepli Hooker in his Flora of
British India, Don's narao peetinata to the wrong plant. Kriintzlin does not admit
this as a species, but rcduces it to H. peetinata.
