rower in the young filaments than in those which are more
advanced. The young threads are also less attenuated.
The synonyms of the present Alga were first ascertained
by Mr. Borrer, from the examination of a specimen given to
him by Mr. Dickson; and Mr. Jenner’s specimens are from
the original station of Dillenius. As a species it is quite
distinct from all others in its peculiar habit and characters.
The filaments are very slender, and shorter than in many
species. The dissection is taken from Mr. Jenner’s plant; the
