have ten legs befides the forceps, all our englifh Spiders having but
eight. They are laid to Ipin a web lo ftrong between the branches
o f the trees as is able to intangle the humming-birds which they

he back o f this Spider was o f a dark colour and light in the
middle; the upper lide o f its belly dark, with marks o f yellow and
white; the legs o f a light hair-colour, Ipotted with a dark colour; the
feelers llender. It had fix eyes Handing as they are placed in the
copper Plate. It was taken on Hampflead-Heath, in the latter end
o f September.

T h E back and upper fide of the belly o f this Spider were o f a dark
colour, inclining to a black, with a row o f large marks made up o f
final 1 white Ipecks, and on each fide a feolloped line o f white 5 the
legs were o f a light hair-colour Ipotted with a dark colour 5 the feelers
were {lender. It had eight eyes Handing as they are placed in the
copper Plate. It was taken on HampJlead-Heath, on the twenty-
.feventh of September.
