eyes placed as is exprefied in the Plate. Thefe Spiders are very frequent
in the Hedges about Hornfey-fVood. It was taken about the
middle o f May, at which time there were a great many finall ones
running about, they not differing at all from the old ones in fhape or
colour. Thele are called the Greyhound Spider. They are lo Iwift in
running that they feem to fly.

T h i s Spider on the back is o f a dark muddy yellow, inclining
to a blackilh colour, the belly blackilh, with a white hoary look; the
legs were ye llow ; the feelers yellow and llender: It had eight eyes
placed as is exprefled in the Plate. It was taken about the middle o f
May, near Hornfey-IVood. One o f thele Spiders was taken near Ham-
hleton in Buckingham-Jhire, wraped up in a leaf o f the winter green,
with a great many young ones with i t $ the legs and back o f this Spider
were not lo yellow as the former but more inclining to a chefout
colour.

T h i s Spider’s back is o f a blackilh colour, the upper part o f its
belly being finely marked with a redilh, and blackilh mixture, and on
the upper part next the back was a white mark in the form o f a Y .
Its legs were o f a pale colour finely lpotted ; the feelers had Imall
globular bunches at the ends. The eyes o f this Spider could not be di-
ftinguilhed. P

T hi s Spider was Imall and flat, almoft refemblinga tick. It was
o f an aih colour, each fide o f the back having a little mixture o f red ;
the feelers were llender, the eyes o f it could not be feen.
