T h i s Spider was all over o f a hair-colour, with a light ltreak lathe
middle o f the back 5 in which was a fmall black line, the upper
part o f its belly was regularly marked reprefenting joints, the legs were
finely footted with black5 its feelers flender; It had eight eyes placed as
they are exprefled in the Plate. This Spider was taken in a Cellar,
at the latter end o f A p r il. The thick web o f this, and all the houfo
Spiders may be made Ufe of, in the cure o f all intermittent Fevers.

T h e back o f this Spider was o f a dark copper colour, the whole
belly perfectly black, the legs of a chefhut colour finely Ipotted with
b la ck ; its feelers were flender : The eyes were fo fmall and clofe together
as not rightly to be dilcerned as to their number and form. It.
was taken in a moift place under a fhed at the latter end o f A p ril.

legs were the fhorteft, the two next the longefl: o f a l l ; the other two or
third pair being fhort, the hind legs long : This Spider was taken at
Hackney;, in the beginning o f May. This Spider feems to be one o f
the lonog -legogved kind.
