NV CLVIII.
T h i s Spider was all over o f a dark brown colour on the back,
belly, legs and feelers, being all over befet with fine ha ir; its legs
were long, and the feelers {lender. It was taken in a Stable o f the
Right Honourable the Lord Trevers, at his feat at Peckham, about the
middle o f Auguft, This is one o f the female houfe Spiders, and o f ufe
when any o f your poultrey or birds of the infe&iverous kind are cramped,
or otherwife benumbed with cold*; for i f you then give them a
fmall Spider or two o f the houfe kind, which they will willingly eat,
it will help them.

T h e back and belly o f this Spider were o f a very dark brown,
having on the back a circular mark o f light hair-colour, with a cafe o f
dark red on the lower part; the upper fide o f the belly next the back
had a fmall ftripe o f light colour, and on the outfide o f that dark
brown bordred with red, and on the outfide o f the red light hair-
colour ending in a fork n e x t' the t a i l : Its legs were o f a light hair-
colour fpotted with «dark brown ; the feelers were (lender and {potted-'
It had fix eyes {landing as they are placed in the copper Plate. It was
taken in a cellar o f an old houfe, at the latter end o f Augufl.

T h e back and belly o f this Spider were o f a dark hair-colour $ the
back had a circular mark of dark brown , divided in the middle by a
line o f the feme colour; the upper fide of the belly had three rows o f
dark marks reaching from the back to the tail, which was forked3
