T Hi s Spider was of a black colour where the eyes Hood; the other
part adjoining to the belly was o f a redilh chefnut colour, the upper
fide o f the belly o f a yellowiib dark alh colour, the legs o f this Spider
are pretty long and o f a redilh colour,, the feelers were globular and
hairy, and on the outfides o f them there was a bright knob o f white-
incircled with yellow, which made it appear as i f a little Hone had
been let therein : it had eight eyes Handing as they are exprefled oven
the Spider in the Plate. This was a male Spider,, and was taken in. a
houfe in the beginning o f A p r il.

T h i s final 1 Spider is o f a brownilh colour with a yellow mark
crofs part o f the belly next the back, the upper fide o f the belly being
marked with a large triangular mark with a crols in i t ; the legs were
fpotted: it had long feelers, and four eyes, which were perceptible;
Handing as they are exprefled over the Spider in the Plate. It was
taken in a garden in A p ril.

T hi s Spider was black and white ; the black marks on the upper
fide of the belly crofs it horizontally ; it had eight eyes Handing as they
are exprefled in the Plate. This is one o f the Spiders which catches
his prey by jumping on it, and can move backwards and forwards, or
fideways at its plealure with great agility. It was taken in a. garden
about the middle o f A p r il.
