T hi s Spider was white both on the upper and under fide,of its
legs and feelers j it had a dark {hade on each fide its back. I t had a
finall {hade o f red on the head; on the upper fide d f the belly were two
rows o f dents or dimples, and two {pecks o f red near theBack, and two
larger on the fide o f the belly«. • It had eight eyes placed as they are

in a Wood near Henley upon Thames, about the middle o f June the red
{pots on one o f thefe being much larger than the« lpots oni this Spider.

T h e back o f this Spider .was o f a redifii ca ft 5 the.fides of. a, dark
colour j the upper fide o f its belly was o f a dirty yellow, with a long
fquare mark in the middle; ending in a large dark {pot next the tail,
which was forked 5 the underfide o f the belly was o f the fame colour,
having two large {pots, thereon, as i f gilded with fine gold*. *dc;h?d
eight eyes, as they are exprefled.in the Plate, ft,was found {pun up
in the tops o f green forrel, and with it a bag o f eggs o f a pale red Colour,
