found wrapt up in a N ettle-Leaf, and with it a ball o f eggs o f a blue
colour, on the fixth o f September near Camberwell.

T his long legged Spider was of a dark hair-colour on the upper
fide, having aftreak of light colour in the middle o f its back 5 the legs
of a dark colour; its feelers {lender; the Under fide was o f a yellowifii
white. It was taken under the coping o f a Wall, at the latter end o f
Augrijl.
N°. CXXIX.
T h e back o f this Spider was of, a dark colour; the upper fide o f
the belly is io finely mark’d with orange colour, yellow and dark hair-
colour, that no painting can truely exprefs i t ; the legs were dark and
{potted; its feelers {lender. It had fix eyes placed as they are exprefled
in the copper'Plate.' Thefe Spiders are found common near Putney
amongft the Nettles, in which they had fpread their webs 3 in which,
.webs were taken both flyes and butterflyes.

T h i s Spider was o f a yellowifti red colour, with two broad ftripes
o f black in the middle; the upper part o f the belly, which was
{lender, was o f a yellowifh colour, with a large white {pot next the
back, marked with dark hair-colour and redifti {pots; its legs were o f
a dark red colour ; the feelers were globular at the ends. It had fix
eyes Handing as they are placed in the copper Plate. It was taken
amongft the Nettles near Putney-Common,' and feems to be the male
to GXXIX. It was found the eleventh' o f September.
