the head, on the upper fide, was a rifing knob, on which were placed
two pretty large eyes. This was taken in Cain-Wood, at the beginning
o f June.

'T h E back o f this Spider hath a finall line o f orange colour in the
^middle, and on each fide o f that a broad ft ripe o f black ; and on the
outfide o f the back a light hair-colour 5 the upper fide: o f the belly was
{black, with marks o f hair-colour down the middle, in the fhape o f
hearts; the fides o f the belly whitiftr; next to that black, which come
.off into a faint fhade o f afh colour 3 the whole underfide was o f the fame
.colour-; the legs and feelers both o f a hair-colour. It had eight eyes
.placed as inthe. copper Plate, the uppermoft o f which, that flood in a
now, were the- fmalleft. It was taken running on the ground by a hedge
sfide, near Woolwich in Kent., about the middle o f June,.

' T h e hack o f this Spider was black, with three white marks or
fpecks on it, the upper part o f the belly, black, with a femicircular line
white, o f on the upper part next the back, and two ftripes o f white on
<each fide, pointing upwards towards the middle o f the belly ■ the,legs
were hair-colour, fpotted with a darker colour -; the feelers flender. It
had,eight eyes placed as they are expreffed in the copper Plate. It was
.taken in a garden at Hackney, in the beginning o f June.

T his rSpider was all over o f a brown colour; its back and belly
were near o f a bignefs; the belly had an indented ftripe o f a lighter colour
rifing in the middle, making its belly appear gibbous; its legs
•were fomething long and finely fpotted; its feelers were flender. This
