T h e back o f this Spider was o f an afh-colour 5 ail the other parts
were o f a redifli colour ; on the upper part o f the belly was a row o f
white marks; from the back to the end o f the tail, and between thofe
white marks, it was finely marbled with a variety o f fhades o f red,
in the fliape o f a triangle fcolloped on each fide, and a row o f black
fpots on the outfide o f the fcolloped lin e ; the legs were o f a pale
colour fpotted with black5 the feelers were flender and o f an afh-
colour: It had eight eyes placed as is exprefTed in the Plate. It was
taken in a garden at Hackney, about the middle o f M ay.

T hi s Spider feemed to be o f a lead colour, and o f an oval fliape 5
its back was very ligh t5 the upper end or head white, with a line o f
pale orange colour along the middle o f the back 3 the upper part o f the
belly was very dark, almoft black, going down the fides in a lighter
fliade^ the under fide o f the belly was o f a lad colour: It had eight eyes
placed as they are exprefled in the Plate 5 Its feelers were long and flender.
It was taken near Newington-Green, about the latter end o f M cy.

T h i s Spider was all over o f a chefnut colour, with a flreak o f light
colour on the back 3 its belly was o f an oval fliape, the upper part o f
which was the darkeft^ the whole Spider had a velvet look: It had eight
eyes placed as they are exprefTed in the copper plate 3 the feelers were
flender. It was taken at the beginning o f June, in Cain-Wood, and
put into a box over night, and by the morning it had laid eggs and
wrapped them up in a round white ball, holding it under its belly.
