C H A R A C T E R SPECIFICUS.
Trochilus curviroftris viridi-aureus, fubtus albus, alls caudaque nigricantibus, gula criifoqui;
cyaneis.
S P E C I F I C CHARACTER.
Curve-billed gold-green Humming-bird, white beneath, with blackifli wings and tail, and (
blue throat and vent.
THE Humming-bird here figured, fo far as can be determined from its colours, appears to be
a new fpecies of this diminutive genus: it muft be ranked in the divifion of Trochili curviroftres,
or thoie with a curved bill, though the ctirvature in this ipecies appears to be very
(light. The colour of the bird on the upper part of the body is gold-green; the wings and tail
duiky or blackilb; the under parts white, except the throat and vent, which are deep blue.
This bird is a nadve of the Eaft Indies.
