Flycatcher with black crown, hind-head varied with black and white, with a double bar on
the wings, one white, the other yellowiih-white.

THE birds of the genus IMufcicapa are moftly natives of the warmer regions; fome few are of
European growtli, and two fpecies are found in our own country. The birds of this genus
live on infefts, for the catching of which their beak is principally adapted, being widened or
flattened out towards the bafe, by which the riftus, or opening of the mouth, is enlarged.
The prefent fpecies appears to be the Striped Flycatcher of Mr. Latham's Synopfis of Birds.
Its length is about five inches. The bill is black; the bafe of the under mandible yellowifli;
the crown black; the hind-head black and white; the cheeks white; the throat yellowiih white,
