THIS bird, which the Plate reprefents in its natural fize, is a native of Otahcite and feveral
other iflands in the Pacific Ocean. The irides are red. It is a fpecies which was firft difcovered
during Sir Jofeph Banks's voyage to the fouthern hemifphere. It is faid to be fubjeft
to fome variety ¡n point of colour, being fometimes much browner than here expreiled, with
the vent barred with ftreaks of black.
