Native of Brazil, Organ Mountains, E io Pernambuco, and
Rio Grande.
In tro d u c ed into E n g la n d in 1829, and received from the
E oy a l Be rlin Gardens into the Roya l Gardens, Kew, in 1841.
Fro n d s glabrous, trip in u a te , with linear-acuminate pinnæ,
oblong-linear pinnules, and oblong-obtuse segments; somewhat
crenate, adnate, and decurrent. Fro n d s termina l, and adherent
to an erect fasciculate rhizoma.
Pinnæ sub-opposite below, alternate above; remote below,
approximate above, and crowded near the apex.
Stipes and rachis ebeneous, and hairy near the base.
