F ro n d s p innate, apex pointed, pinnæ linear-lanceolate,- from
four to six inches in len g th , sub-sessile, the base truncate
above and a rticidatcd below, the margin being cronate-serrulate.
Veins flahellately forked, free exte rio rly , the basal venules
an g u la rly anastomosing, and forming a costal row of oblique
areoles, which are cuneiform.
I ll the fertile fronds the pinnæ are much contracted; pinnæ
linear.
Sori formed on th e transverse anastomosing venules and
bases of th e free venules, and forming a broad continuous or
su b -in tc rru p tcd transverse sorus, destitute of an indusium;
eventually confluent.
T h e fronds rising out of an crcct, arboreous corm, which
attains the h eight of fifty inches.
