A n interesting and very distinct species, having membranous
fragile fronds.

Native of Jamaica and the AVest Indies.
T h e form of the frond is triangula rly-elongate, bip in n a te , or
sub-bipinnate, and exceedingly hirsute. Pinme linear-lanceolate,
opposite, pinnatifid, and in some degree drooping. Rachis
winged. P in n u le s linear-oblong, acuminate, and pinnatifid,-
segments oblong-obtuse, alternate, and somewhat falcate; apex
rounded. A^^eins forked.
Sori lin e a r, continuous, and intra -marginal. In d u sium sinuous
and fringed.
Stipes la te ra l, thick, succulent, and ad h e ren t to a stout
creeping rhizoma.
