T h is species closely resembles P te r is fe lo sm a in appearance,
y e t is always more dwarf, and is destitute of the strong odour
which is a character so marked in P . felo sm a .

T h e fronds, which are glabrous, are triangula rly-elongate in
form, p innate, the pinme being linear-lanceolate, petiolulate,
and profoundly pinnatifid. A p ex entire and caudate. The
basal pinna; b ip a rtite . Segments lin e a r, entire, obtuse, and
sub-falcate. T h e u p p e r side of the costa spinulose.
Stipes eighteen inches in len g th ; base scaly and terminal,
being ad h e ren t to an erect fasciculate rhizoma.
