T h e P te r is macroptera is a distinct handsome species, well
worthy of being generally cultivated, y e t seldom to be met
with in collections.
T h e form of the frond is triangula r-elongate, bipinnatifid
below, and pinnatifid above; th e pinnæ profoundly pinnatifid.
T h e pinnæ are tria n g u la rly elongate below, becoming more
elongate above. P innæ opposite; apices atten u a ted ; margin
serrate.
