S t r o n g - g r o w i n g , creeping, or climbing F e rn s from Africa,
having fronds of two forms, th e fertile ones being contracted.
T h e veins rising from an obscure transverse vein, continuous
with, and approximate with th e costa; venules direct, th e ir
apices clavate and u nited. Sori lin e a r and continuous, and
becoming confluent. Ehizoma scaly and creeping.
T h e name is derived from the Gre ek—a narrow cloak—on
account of the narrow membranous margin of th e fertile pinnæ.
T h e re are no B ritish examples.
