A n evergreen stove species.
N a tiv e of the Islan d of T rin id ad , and the temperate regions
of Mexico.
Raised from spores in the Royal Gardens, Kew, in 1833.
F ro n d s glabrous, p in n a te ; the pinnæ oblong-ovate, obtuse;
the te rmina l p in n a elongate, and much larger. Lower pinnæ
p e tio lu la te ; the u p p e r ones adnate.
F ro n d s termina l, and ad h e ren t to a creeping rhizoma.
Rachis and stipes red d ish , slightly scaly near the base.
Sori linear and continuous.
Veins forked.
T h e re are only two pairs of pinuæ on each frond, and a
terminal one, the latte r being four inches iu length.
L en g th of frond six or eight inches; colour pale green.
A very distinct species.
