F ro n d covered with glaudulous hairs. L a te ra l, ad h e ren t to
a creeping rhizoma.
Rachis and stipes at first g re en , afterwards becoming brown.
T h e re is a singular variety in cultivation, known as v ariety
difformis, having a p eculiar rugose curled appearance. Fro n d s
twenty-four inches in len g th , and tr ip in u a te ; pinnæ irre g u la r;
p in n u le s lacerated.
